RING has revealed a brand new security camera that leave intruders with nowhere to hide.
The latest gadget is the Amazon-owned company’s first to feature an integrated pan-tilt camera with a motorised base.
The firm has long led the way on static doorbells and cameras.
But this latest approach means the device can turn 360 degrees horizontally and and 169 degrees vertically.
Ring says the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam is “one camera for every angle”.
“Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera is great for everyone, from pet owners who want to pan around the living room to check on their pet, to customers who want to cover multiple angles and doorways with one camera,” Ring explained.
The camera uses 1080p HD video as well as colour night vision so users never miss a thing.
As with previous Ring gizmos, you have access to a live view from the feed, the ability to talk back through it and real-time motion alerts.
Ring has also added a manual audio and privacy cover for moments you don’t want the camera to hear or see.
Of course, video storage is a paid extra that requires a Ring Protect subscription.
The annual fee increased from from £34.99 to £49.99 earlier this year, which didn’t go down well with users.
Ring’s new Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera is on sale now for £69.99.
The company has also announced new colours for its existing Indoor Camera (2nd generation).
These are:
- Blush
- Charcoal
- Starlight
The new colours are available for £49.99 from July 24.
How to stop over-active Ring doorbell alerts
IF your Ring video cameras are a little over-active you should try this trick.
Turn on the Geofence feature, which is a virtual perimeter or invisible boundary around a specific geographic location that you define.
- Open the Ring app, and go to the menu, which is the three lines in the corner
- Now head to Settings
- Select Geofence
- Here you can adjust the position of the Geofence as you see fit
- Tap Confirm
- Now set up Auto-Snooze
- Choose which devices you want to snooze notifications for
- You can also set a Snooze duration
- Tap Continue
- Then check the Arm/Disarm Reminders – these will alert you to change your Mode when you enter or exit the Geofence
- Tap Continue, then Finish & Save
