SHOPPERS hunting for a cheap budget phone should take a look at a superb Android deal on Amazon.
The retailer has dropped the cost of the Motorola Moto G13 from £149.99 to £89 in an epic 41% price drop.

I spotted this red-hot price drop on the electronics deals page on the Amazon website earlier today.
Back in March, Senior Tech Reporter Jamie Harris spotted that this ultra-affordable handset had fallen to £99 on Amazon– but now it’s even cheaper.
Motorola might be a brand that lots of people more associate with 2004 than 2024.
(I still have fond memories of my old Noughties flip-phone, and of course those ‘Hello Moto! ads.)
But despite being knocked way out of the centre of the mobiles marketplace, the manufacturer – now owned by Chinese brand Lenovo – does a nice little line of budget-friendly Android handsets.
Case in point: the Moto G13. It might be distinctly short in bells and whistles, but honestly, for anybody in dire need of a cheapie SIM-free smartphone, it looks like an excellent choice.
At 6.5 inches, its display is a respectable size, and despite the plastic build, its svelte design makes it look, frankly, a lot pricier than it is.
But the Moto G13’s strongest sell is, surely, its battery life.
That’s thing to always keep in mind with budget handsets: they might not have the internal processors, or cameras, or screen quality of mid-range and flagship options.
But they guzzle power at a far slower rate than pricier options – and the G13 sports a whopping 5000mAh battery.
One shopper on the Amazon website, who describes this as a ‘fantastic phone’, says: ‘I only charge [the Moto G13] once every 4 days.’
‘[It] packs a punch for the price,’ writes another customer. ‘Overall, I’m impressed with its performance and features, especially considering its price point.
‘It’s got comparable features to many of those offered by my Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra, maybe not as quick – more like those featured on a Samsung Galaxy 8/9.
‘But at 10% of the cost, you can’t grumble.’

Despite that massive price drop, I always recommend that phone shoppers do their research before diving in – there are other sterling budget mobiles out there.
If you’ve got a bit of extra spend, it’s worth nothing that the SIM-free Google Pixel 7a has also been reduced in cost on Amazon– this is a phone that far outstrips the G13 in terms of hardware, and is powered by Google’s mighty operating platform.
