A DIY fan named Shannon Merrigan, 28, from the UK, took to social media to share a before and after look at her council house bathroom, leaving many very impressed.

The mother said: “Watch me transform my council house bathroom on a budget.”

As she showed off her run down bathroom, she confirmed: “When you get a council house you literally get a SHELL.

“It’s up to you to make your house a home.”

We then saw the process of the bathroom’s overhaul, as Shannon revealed how she transformed the white tiles without breaking the bank.

Taking her bathroom to drab to fab, she beamed: “I used D-C Fix vinyl wrap over the tiles and it’s worked a dream.”

Shannon later explained that she nabbed her vinyl from The Range, with each roll working out at just £6 each.

She shared: “This was a bargain, five rolls for £30.02 and it has made such a difference to the room!”

Shannon also confirmed that she used spray paint, which she nabbed from Poundland for just £2.50, to give her taps a new look.

But she then revealed: “However the spray paint isn’t lasting too well, it’s a temporary fix until I can get new ones.”

For her radiator, Shannon used the Johnstone’s metal black paint, which she bought for just £7.

The DIY enthusiast explained: “Now don’t be fooled by the picture as the tin is tiny.

“However, it did the job for the radiator. I did three coats and still have some left over.”

All in all it cost around £250 and I’m happy with the result
