A WOMAN has revealed that she gave her plain and tired council house a mega makeover, all whilst on a budget.
So if your home could do with some TLC, but you’re tight on cash and don’t know where to start – fear not, you’ve come to the right place.
A DIY fan named Shannon Merrigan, 28, from the UK, took to social media to share a before and after look at her council house bathroom, leaving many very impressed.
The mother said: “Watch me transform my council house bathroom on a budget.”
As she showed off her run down bathroom, she confirmed: “When you get a council house you literally get a SHELL.
“It’s up to you to make your house a home.”
We then saw the process of the bathroom’s overhaul, as Shannon revealed how she transformed the white tiles without breaking the bank.
Taking her bathroom to drab to fab, she beamed: “I used D-C Fix vinyl wrap over the tiles and it’s worked a dream.”
Shannon later explained that she nabbed her vinyl from The Range, with each roll working out at just £6 each.
She shared: “This was a bargain, five rolls for £30.02 and it has made such a difference to the room!”
Shannon also confirmed that she used spray paint, which she nabbed from Poundland for just £2.50, to give her taps a new look.
But she then revealed: “However the spray paint isn’t lasting too well, it’s a temporary fix until I can get new ones.”
For her radiator, Shannon used the Johnstone’s metal black paint, which she bought for just £7.
The DIY enthusiast explained: “Now don’t be fooled by the picture as the tin is tiny.
“However, it did the job for the radiator. I did three coats and still have some left over.”
All in all it cost around £250 and I’m happy with the result

Not only this, but the DIY fan confirmed that she bought her matte black shower slide rail kit for £34.99 from Amazon.
When it came to her “favourite part of the bathroom”, which according to Shannon, “transforms the room”, she confirmed that she ordered her black square grid shower screen from Amazon, costing her £88.99.
