In her viral video, TikTok user Sofia (@sofiahairhealth) explained that she suffers with chronic hair loss.

Despite this, she has managed to perfect and maintain her long luscious locks.

According to the hair loss researcher, there are daily steps you can take to encourage growth.

Along with the usual products like minoxidil, Sofia recommended investing in a derma roller.

You can pick up a budget-friendly derma roller for just £4.99 from Amazon.

“Derma rolling creates micro injuries and takes blood flow to your scalp,” she explained.

According to the manufacturers, the beauty product helps to boost long-term growth.

“Micro needling stimulates the production of collagen,” they explained.

Sofia revealed how this step can help with the thickness of your locks as well as growth.

“When blood goes to your scalp, it takes oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles, making them stronger, putting them in the growth phase, allowing you to have thicker hair as well,” she said.

The hair expert also suggested stimulating the scalp with daily massages.

She highlighted the importance of taking these steps once a day rather than weekly.

Sofia told her audience that they “have to be stimulating blood flow continually for the hair to grow.”

She also advised her followers to avoid going to bed with wet hair as it can encourage breakage.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the tips in the comments section.

Hair loss tips

We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, according to the NHS.

It is not usually something to worry about, but occasional it can be a sign of a medical concern.

These include illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss and iron deficiency.

The NHS advises to book an appointment with your GP to see if you can get to the cause of it.

Experts at American Academy of Dermatology Association also recommend to eat healthy, limit curling irons and only use them for special occasions.

They also recommend using a gentle shampoo, and make use of leave-in conditioners.

“Derma roller, rosemary oil, and and biotin, it really works,” wrote one viewer.

“You’ve started changing my life. Thanks,” said another impressed follower.

“Consistency is the key with hair growth,” pointed out a third commenter.

“I derma roll my scalp one to two times a week and massage it almost everyday, using hair oils like castor oil and rosemary, amla,” commented another person.

“It’s been only two months but OMG, almost all my balding spots are covered!!”

“So proud of you! The most beautiful full hair I’ve seen!” said one TikTok user.
