A WOMAN has revealed how she gave her small, dated bathroom a total overhaul, whilst on a budget.

DIY enthusiast Vicky Keep, a mother from Kent, proudly took to social media to show off a before and after look at her bathroom’s transformation, leaving many open-mouthed.
Thanks to a lick of paint, some cheap floor stick-on tiles and bargain buys from Amazon, Argos and Asda, Vicky was able to give her bathroom a fresh new feel, for just £200.
Posting on DIY On A Budget Official, a private Facebook group with a whopping 2.2 million members, Vicky explained: “My small black, grey, white, forest-green bathroom revamp!!!”
The savvy mum then said: “I started painting over the horrible beige/cream tiles first with V33 tile paint, then decided to update the whole bathroom, but couldn’t afford to replace the (22 year) bathroom suite/tiles.”
Vicky explained that to save cash on paint, she colour matched the Valspar shade she wanted and bought her paint from B&Q, which she used to give the dated tiles a more modern style.
As well as this, Vicky transformed the once dark and dull flooring with FloorPops peel and stick tiles, which she ordered from Amazon.

Vicky also explained that she bought her ladder shelf unit, mirror and faux leaves from The Range.
She bought her towels from M&S and Asda, her bath Mat from M&S and her glass bottles from Amazon.
Not only this, but Vicky also nabbed her candles, vase and artificial plant from Asda, and ordered her under sink storage unit from Argos.
It’s safe to say that Vicky has transformed her bathroom from drab to fab, without breaking the bank, and we think it looks brilliant.
The DIY fan later confirmed: “I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.
“Approximately £200 total.”

Vicky’s post has clearly impressed many, as it has amassed over 800 likes and more than 115 comments.
Social media users were stunned at the bathroom’s overhaul and many were keen to express this in the comments.

FABULOUS FLOORING
At the same time, many Facebook users were left impressed by Vicky’s flooring.
One DIY enthusiast asked: “It looks great! I have a similar laminate in my kitchen to what you had down. Did the tiles just stick on top? Some of the laminate I have is a bit swollen from a leak, do you think the tiles would stick over the top of slightly uneven laminate?”
In response, Vicky replied: “I had MDF floor boards, which I painted with an acrylic undercoat and left for 48 hours before sticking the tiles to.
“I also used a spray adhesive for additional stick, to ensure this doesn’t lift.

“I stuck the same brand of tiles in my downstairs loo, straight on top of lino, without additional adhesive, they haven’t lifted, but the floor was flat.
“I would removing the laminate if it’s uneven and stick to an even surface underneath if possible.”
A second questioned: “Absolutely gorgeous!!! How did you cut around the toilet basin?”
To this, Vicky explained: “I made a template out of cardboard.
“I used a Stanley knife and scissors to cut the tiles, they’re pretty flexible, I just cut them too large and trimmed them down until they fit.”
