A SAVVY 24-year-old says he makes £70k a month reselling household items, laptops and coffee machines.

Luke Williams, from Bristol, started selling household items like bleach, deodorant and washing up liquid online while working on a building site.

As his salary didn’t cover his bills, in June 2021 Luke realised he could buy items from wholesalers to then sell them on Amazon at a higher price.

The re-seller started making £1k a month from his side hustle but after his earnings increased to £30k a month in the space of 18 months he quit his job as a builder the following January.

In his first 12 months, Luke raked in £180k and now earns £70k a month selling electronics like computers, laptops and TVs.

Luke’s earnings mean he has been able to pay off his £17k Mercedes Benz, fly business class to Abu Dhabi and reinvest in his business.

What I sell ranges from air fresheners, meat grinders, phones, kids’ toys and changing mats.

“My business has changed a little bit,” he says.

“I have moved onto electronics – TVs, laptops, coffee machines.

“I am selling those alongside my usual household items.

“You can shift less units and get more sales, instead of selling 1,000 deodorant sticks you can sell 100 coffee machines and get more money.”

Luke graduated in June 2020 and started working on a building site but “I just wasn’t making enough money,” he said.

He added: “I came across Amazon FBA – a programme that lets you outsource order fulfillment to Amazon – and realised I could buy from wholesalers and sell on the app too.

“What I sell ranges from air fresheners, meat grinders, phones, kids’ toys and changing mats.

In his first year of trading, Luke made £180k reselling household items like soap, deodorant and toothpaste.

“I started out by buying old phones from Facebook and reselling them on eBay,” he says.

“I only wanted to make an extra £1k a month as it would help me with the extra payments I had.

“I went to university, studied building and surveying and went to work on a building site. I did that for about a year.

“I started selling on Amazon in June 2021.”

In November 2023, Luke started selling electronic devices alongside his household items and has been making £70k a month since.

“The change in products have helped massively,” he explains.

“In sales I have turned £70k a month compared to what I was doing.

“I have been reinvesting everything into the business.”
