Content creator and DIY enthusiast Vicky Donaghy took to social media to show off her daughter’s finished bedroom, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on DIY On A Budget Official, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Vicky shared snaps of her daughter’s chic, beige bedroom.

Alongside the pictures, the mother wrote: “Teenage girls bedroom, done my daughter’s bedroom a few weeks ago.

“Painted, new bed, wall panels and new carpet.

“Six slatted wall panels along the back wall for a feature (used five and a half) then added 10m colour changing LED strip lights from Amazon, only cost £9.99 and that’s her favourite part of the room.

“Wall colour is Jitney.”

The DIY fan, who posts on Instagram under the username @greystone_newbuild, then told Fabulous: “I used half slatted panels from Walls and Floors, which were cheaper than full slatted panels, but I wanted the half slat panel as I thought it would create a real feature behind the bed, rather than a full height slatted panel.

“It took five and a half panels. They are literally glued on with wood glue.

“I then ordered 10m of colour changing LED lights from Amazon for £9.99 to go fully around the panelling, and this is controlled with a remote that comes with them.

“The bed was on sale and had three underbed drawers. Really good for storage. It’s from Time4Sleep.”

Vicky then shared how she saved cash on the paint, as she added: “I then painted the bedroom myself in the colour Jitney from Farrow and Ball, but colour matched the paint in Johnstone’s paint. It’s such a warm colour.”

As well as this, she shared where she finds reasonably priced furniture, as she explained: “I got the bedside tables, bedding, and cushions from Studio, which is so good for affordable homeware.”

Vicky also confirmed that she bought her daughter’s mirror from Outlet Mirrors, the bed from Debenhams and the bedside lamps from Matalan.

‘AMAZING JOB’

Vicky’s post has clearly impressed many as it has quickly amassed over 800 likes.

Social media users were left open-mouthed at the bedroom’s overhaul and many took to the comments to express this.
